Protect Your Skin This Summer with a Skin Care Routine

With every change in season, you need to change your skincare routine. If winters are all about beating skin dryness, summers bring their own set of challenges for you. Getting out in the summer heat exposes you to the extreme summer heat and UV rays along with all the sweat and dirt. Read on to get tips on how you can set a summer skincare routine to protect your skin from the harsh summer sun.

About Summer Skin Problems

The strong summer sun can put your skin to a tough test. The heat and humidity you get exposed to in summer clog the pores in your skin, making your skin prone to acne and breakouts, and skin damage from sun may lead to irritation and skin dehydration. Stepping out in the sun, whether it is to run errands or to head out for work, means you get exposed to the harmful ultraviolet rays. The onslaught of summer strips your skin of hydration and makes it dry.

During summers, not only do you have to protect yourself from the harmful UV rays of the sun, but also from dirt and humidity. While it is not possible for you to control the environmental factors, you can definitely maintain a strict skincare regimen that keeps your skin vibrant, soft, bright, and healthy.

Summer Skincare Tips

The most important step in your skincare regimen is applying a good sunscreen or sunblock. Use a sunscreen that comes with multiple different benefits. A good sunscreen lotion will protect you from the harmful rays of the sun and prevent your skin from getting damaged. Many sunscreen lotions and creams come with moisturizing and hydrating qualities, doubling up as good moisturizers, as well. Kaya Clinic offers a range of sunscreen lotions, suited to every skin type. There are sunscreens for those with sensitive skin and even a sweatproof sunscreen, as well. Use from the Kaya sunscreen range to protect your skin from the hot summer sun.
Use a good cleanser to rid your skin of dirt and germs from the environment. Especially if you use makeup on a regular basis, t is essential to use a cleanser for removing your make up and making sure your skin stays clean and clear. Kaya’s purifying cleanser is a good product meant primarily for those with acne prone skin. The brightening beads cleanser by Kaya is meant for everyday use and gives you a bright and radiant skin.
Carry wet wipes with you to dab off all the sweat on your face and to keep your face free from dust and dirt. Use Kaya’s Refreshing Mattifying Wipes for acne prone skin or the Everyday Cleansing Wipes by Kaya to keep your skin clean and hydrated.
Use facemasks to keep your skin well-hydrated and moisturized. If you have oily skin, you can use Kaya’s 5-Herb Instant Oil-Control Mask for clean, oil-free skin.
Wash your face every time you get home. By washing your face, you get rid of all the dirt, germs, and oil that can clog into your pores and which can lead to acne and irritation.
Keep yourself hydrated at all times. Consume lots of fluids and keep your diet focused on foods that are high on fluid content. This will give your skin a glow and make you look vibrant.
If you have dark spots, exposure to the sun can make them become darker because of the excessive heat. Use a good spot corrector to deal with the pigmentation caused by exposure to the sun and heat.
Finally, cover yourself with a scarf or a hat to stay protected from the direct harmful rays of the sun.

Use Kaya’s Sweat Proof Sunscreen For Day Protection Against The Sun

There are a variety of sunscreens available for a variety of skin types. But, if you are one who breaks a sweat easily or if you are out in the sun exercising, then a sweat-proof sunscreen is what you need. Kaya’s sweat proof sunscreen is one such brilliant sunscreen.

When it comes to sun protection, you shouldn’t compromise. There are two types of sun’s rays that can easily damage your skin if you are not protected. The Ultraviolet-A rays can cause your skin to look older because it causes wrinkles and age spots. Ultraviolet-B, on the other hand, can cause sunburns and increases the risk of skin cancer. Use sunscreen to avoid getting affected by these two harmful rays. If you are looking for a solution to be protected when you sweat, then don’t worry because Kaya sunscreen has got you covered.

Why choose Kaya’s Sweat Proof Sunscreen

Do you want to eliminate all possible skin damage from the sun? Then choose from Kaya’s range of sunscreens. As Kaya’s skin care products are all developed by expert dermatologists, the quality of their products is always top-notch.
If you are one who sweats a lot and hasn’t been able to find the right sunscreen to match your condition, then look no further because Kaya has a sweat proof sunscreen. Here is why this product should be your first choice.

      Water-Resistant And Sweat-Resistant

This sunscreen does not wash off easily and so you can go swimming because your skin is protected. Even if you sweat profusely, you will stay protected if you apply this sunscreen on your face and body.

      Broad-Spectrum Protection

Kaya sunscreen protects you from both the UVA and UVB rays. As stated earlier, these tend to have a negative impact on your skin.

      Sun Protect Factor (SPF)

This sunscreen from Kaya Clinic comes with SPF 30+. This protects you during the summer as well when you are out in the sun for a long time. This decreases the chances of your skin getting burnt and the chances of getting skin cancer due to constant exposure to the sun.

      Paraben-Free

Kaya sunscreen does not contain the chemical Paraben which is harmful to your skin. Paraben sunscreens tend to affect sensitive skin individuals and can even increase the chances of skin cancer. The reason is that they deepen the pigmentation in the skin which is harmful to your skin.

      For All Skin Types

Kaya’s Sweat Proof Sunscreen is suitable for all skin types. You can even use the sunscreen if you have a combination skin type. This enables anyone to use this sunscreen for the protection they need from the sun’s rays.

      Makes Skin Flawless

Kaya sunscreen contains aloe vera juice which helps to soothe your skin while protecting it at the same time. It comes with Tocopheryl Acetate which helps to keep tanning at bay and helps you retain your natural skin tone. The sunscreen moisturizes your skin too and makes it glow.

      No White Layer

When you are applying sunscreen, you must have noticed some of them leave your skin looking white. Your face looks like a mask. Kaya’s sunscreen never does this because it ensures the sunscreen gets absorbed and your skin looks amazing just as it should.

While there are lots of sunscreens that come under the Kaya Sunscreen range, you can opt for sweat proof sunscreen when you know your skin will be exposed to the sun for a long time. It is better to be safe than sorry. Kaya enables you to enjoy the sun and stay protected. Now, you can go out in the sun and have the best time of your life knowing Kaya has your back.

Pick Your Best Defence Against The Sun

It was easier to choose a sunscreen before because there were not many choices. However, as companies understood the requirement of sunscreens, the number of sunscreens available increased rapidly. How can you choose when there are so many options available and what are the factors you have to go by?

Sunscreen is the easiest method for sun protection because all you have to do is apply it to your skin. Even a few minutes of exposure in the sun can be dangerous for your skin, and if you do not apply sunscreen then you are at a higher risk of skin damage. Other problems include premature skin aging and skin discoloration. The longer you are out in the sun without sunscreen, the higher your chances of skin damage from the sun. While the list of sunscreens is increasing by the day, how can you pick one that is the right one for you?

Factors To Consider When You Choose The Best Sunscreen

If you want to save your skin from any kind of damage from the sun’s harmful rays, then sunscreen is your savior. Consider these five important factors when picking the best sunscreen for you:

     Broad-Spectrum Protection

The sunscreen you choose should be able to protect you from both UVA rays and UVB rays. A broad-spectrum sunscreen is what will enable you to get maximum protection when you step out in the sun.

     PABA Free

The sunscreen should be PABA (Para-aminobenzoic acid) free. Earlier, PABA was an active ingredient in sunscreens. The problem with PABA is it can lead to deep pigmentation that increases the risk of skin cancer and causes skin allergies as well.

     SPF 15 Or Above

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. The number after ‘SPF’ denotes the protection level that the sunscreen provides you with against UVB rays. Choose a sunscreen that has SPF 15 or more, because the higher the number, the more protection it can provide you with.

     Cream Based

While there are tons of sunscreens in various forms available, such as sprays and powders, you should use sunscreens that are cream based. The spray and powder sunscreens can cause health problems as they contain nanoparticles which can easily get into your bloodstream.

     Skin Type

You should consider your skin type before you go out and buy sunscreen for yourself. There are gel based sunscreens available for people with oily skin, moisturizing sunscreens for people with dry skin, and so on.

Kaya Sunscreen Range

Kaya Clinic has a range of sunscreens for you to choose from for any skin type. All of Kaya’s sunscreens are PABA free and provide you with broad-spectrum protection so you know that your skin is going to be safe even when you are venturing out in the sun. Why You Should Use Sunscreen Everyday

Do you avoid sun protection because you think it is unnecessary? Think again. UV rays can cause skin burns, skin damage, and in extreme cases, it can even lead to skin cancer. Protecting yourself from the sun is the first precautionary step if you care about your skin.

People assume that walking out in the sun, even during peak times, is not a big deal. Because the sun does not seem like it can damage much if you quickly go and then get in the shade. While the damage due to sun’s rays may not be very visible, it does not mean that your skin does not get damaged. Why do you want to expose your skin when you know the potential damage that UVA and UVB rays can cause? And no, getting vitamin D is not an excuse to stay out in the sun without sun protection.

Research shows that many people can get sufficient vitamin D when they are outside in the sun for up to 30 minutes. And that too, only twice a week! However, staying out in the sun knowing the potential dangers of the sun’s harmful rays is not acceptable since you are putting yourself at risk.

How Sunscreen Can Protect You

It is time to take sunscreen seriously if you have not been doing so until now. Research shows that regular sunscreen application decreases the chances of skin cancer drastically. In addition, you will notice a decrease in skin discoloration when you start to apply sunscreen every day. A lot of research has gone into making sure sunscreens are created with the right ingredients and have been tested to make sure they don't cause any skin problems.  People who don’t use sunscreen generally have older looking skin; they get wrinkles, crow feet, and show visible signs of aging. Sun protection through sunscreen ensures your skin remains youthful and radiant.

A Women applying sunscreen

However, you need to ensure that you know a few tips when you are applying sunscreen on a daily basis. You should apply the sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you step out in the sun. This gives time for the sunscreen to settle onto your skin. You should ideally re-apply the sunscreen every two to three hours if you are outdoors. You should make sure that you apply sunscreen to all the exposed skin areas in your body so that you are protected from skin damage of any type. You should seek shade whenever possible so that your skin is safe.

How Kaya Sunscreen Range Can Help

Kaya’s range of sunscreens enables you to protect yourself from the sun no matter what. Kaya sunscreen is created by expert dermatologists to ensure the formula is safe and can help protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays. You no longer have to fear the sun because you have the best protection possible. Doctors recommend broad-spectrum sunscreen and all of Kaya’s sunscreens are just that.

The Daily Use Sunscreen from Kaya protects you from tanning and is SPF (Sun Protection Factor) 30. It is suitable for all skin types. Ultra-Light Aqua Gel Sunscreen by Kaya comes with SPF 25 and protects acne-prone, and oily skin. This Summer, Apply Sunscreen The Right Way And Beat The Heat

Sunscreen works immediately upon application and stays on the skin for a long time. For the sunscreen to be effective, it needs to be applied correctly, instead of just slathering it all over the body. But a lot of people don’t apply sunscreen the right way. Check out this article to know about applying sunscreen lotion or cream the right way.

A women applying sunscreen

Choose the Right SPF

Choose a sunscreen that comes with a minimum SPF of 30 or above. This will ensure that your skin is protected against tanning and sunburns. Also, make sure that your sunscreen is water and sweat resistant and provides protection against UVA and UVB radiation.

Opt for a sunscreen that suits your skin type. If you have oily skin, choose a sunscreen that hydrates the skin and also regulates excessive oiliness. People with dry skin can look for a moisturizing sunscreen.

Apply An Even Layer Of Sunscreen Before Stepping Out

Apply a thick layer of sunscreen on your skin to ensure that your skin is completely shielded from damage caused by sun exposure. Apply the sunscreen at least half an hour before you step out as your skin will take about 15-20 minutes to completely absorb the sunscreen.

Apply It Directly Onto Your Face

Apply the sunscreen directly onto your face or onto a makeup sponge instead of taking some in your hand. This will make sure that the sunscreen is absorbed evenly and quickly by the skin.

Sunscreen Before Moisturizer

Apply the sunscreen before using the moisturizer as clean and dry skin absorbs it quickly, thus providing maximum sun protection.

Apply Sunscreen On All The Exposed Parts Of The Body

Apply the sunscreen evenly and thoroughly on all the exposed parts of your body. This will ensure that your skin is completely protected from UV radiation. For the lips, use a lip balm or chapstick with a SPF of at least 15.

Use Sunscreen On Every Day Of The Year

Some people tend to skip sunscreen during winter and rainy seasons. Even though the sun doesn’t shine as much during winters as against summers, the UVA rays are strong as ever. Hence you need to protect your skin using sunscreen even on those seemingly cloudy days.

Reapply Sunscreen Whenever Needed

To ensure that your skin is protected all the time, reapply sunscreen once every 90-120 minutes.

Use Makeup Products With A SPF

If you’re meeting a friend or colleague for lunch, the sunscreen applied in the morning will fade away by noon. When you decide to do a little touch-up, pick makeup products that have SPF in them. These products will give your skin the protection they need.

Kaya Sunscreen Products

Kaya has a range of sunscreen products that are suitable for different skin types. These products provide sun protection along with keeping your skin healthy and fresh.

Kaya’s Daily Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 30 shields the skin against UVA and UVB rays and can be used every day. It also provides long-lasting hydration and nourishment. It is ideal for normal and dry skin.

The sun’s harmful rays can cause premature aging of the skin. If you have fine lines and wrinkles, or dark spots, then Kaya’s Youth Protect Sunscreen SPF 50 is what you need! This lightweight, non-sticky, broad-spectrum sunscreen that ensures protection against early signs of aging. It also contains the anti-oxidant geranium, that helps improve skin’s elasticity and texture.

Are You Using The Right Everyday SPF For Your Skin?

One skin care product that protects your skin from the harmful rays of the sun is the sunscreen. But it’s all about using a sunscreen with an SPF strong enough that best suits your skin type. A lot of us just slather the sunscreen all over our body without realizing if it’s the right one for us. We all like doing things the right way, don’t we? Then why not choose the right SPF for our skin?

Your Sunscreen Can be Your New Best Friend

It was once believed that a sunscreen with SPF 15 offered sufficient protection against the sun’s harmful rays. But over the last few years, that has changed. It’s now believed that more sun protection is needed.

SPF ratings are determined in the laboratory. A sunscreen with SPF 30 is estimated to allow 1/30 of the sun rays to get through the skin. SPF 30 protects against 97% of the harmful rays. An SPF 50 is estimated to allow 1/50 of the rays and protects against 98% of the harmful rays.

Sensitive and light toned skin always burns easily under the sun and may need a higher SPF, whereas medium to dark skin-tones rarely burns under the skin and will require a low SPF product. A general rule of thumb is that the lighter your skin-tone the higher the SPF it requires.

 Choosing Your Everyday SPF

The everyday SPF you choose should be the one that suits your skin type the best. Many people avoid wearing an SPF in case it ruins the finished look of their makeup. So look for an SPF that would look smooth under your makeup.

An important thing to look for in sunscreen is antioxidants. They protect your skin from free radical damage. Free radicals are found in our skin and are strongly linked to pollution. These radicals are missing an electron and they latch on to healthy skin to steal that one electron! In this process, free-radicalness spreads to the healthy cell making room for another free radical. This causes oxidative stress which leads to premature aging of the skin. Antioxidants in sunscreens protect your skin these free radicals.

If you have oily skin, you should look for terms like matte or mattifying. Kaya’s Sweat Proof Sunscreen with an SPF of 30+ is perfect for people with oily skin. It comes with a sweat-proof, non-greasy formula that provides 8 hour UV protection. Once applied evenly on the skin, it leaves your skin with a smooth-silky after feel. Unlike other sunscreens that need to be applied every 2 hours, this one stays on for about 8 hours!

For those of you looking for some hydration, you need a moisturizer with high SPF. Kaya’s Youth Protect Sunscreen has an SPF 50 and is perfect for dry skin. This broad spectrum sunscreen protects your skin against both UVA and UVB rays. It comes with anti-oxidant Geranium which helps in improving skin elasticity and prevents photoaging. This product is also PABA free! What more do you need from a sunscreen?

If you have sensitive skin, a mineral-based sunscreen would be perfect for you. Kaya’s Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin is formulated especially for sensitive skin. It is lightweight, non-greasy formula hydrates the skin and gives your skin a matte finish while shielding you against the harmful rays.

For everyday protection against the sun, Kaya’s Daily Use Sunscreen comes with SPF 30. It brightens the skin tone, reduces tan, and shields your skin against UVA-UVB rays. It has a lightweight, non-greasy formula and is free from parabens.

Drop in at Kaya Clinic for an in-depth analysis and consult a dermatologist to understand your SPF requirements!

This New Year it’s Time to Smear on That Sunscreen

While 2018 was a crazy and happy year for all those of you bitten by the travel bug, it was just as crazy for your skin too. Getting a natural tan at the beach, taking a dip in the sea or getting a whiff of fresh air in the mountains, was rejuvenating for your body, mind, and skin too. However once all the excitement dies down, you realise that your skin needs some extra care.
This winter has brought its own set of skin problems, ranging from dryness to lack of nutrition and skin cell damage. It’s time for you to pay attention to how your skin feels and what it really needs. Let’s look at these skin care tips to take better care of your skin from 2019:
-          Understand what your skin type is- is it oily, dry, or a combination of both or neither or is it very sensitive?
-          Use a gentle cleanser for dry skin, which does not contain alcohol or fragrances.
-          If your skin is oily, you need a foaming cleanser.
-          Sensitive skin requires soothing and calming natural ingredients like green tea, aloe vera or chamomile
-          Every skin type must be moisturized. Ensure that you apply the moisturiser right after bathing or washing your face.
-          Apply sunscreen. This is very important. Always apply sunscreen on your skin. Summer, winter, and springtime.
-          Don’t overwash your skin unless it’s absolutely dirty and necessary. But do wash it if you tend to sweat a lot and after your workout sessions. This helps unclog the pores and prevent acne.
-          Use a toner or a serum first in the morning and right before you go to bed. This helps to revitalise and rejuvenate your skin, keeping it fresh throughout the day.
-          If you’re someone who spends a lot of screen time and has dark circles (like me), don’t hesitate to invest in a good eye cream or serum. Learn to apply and massage it correctly.
-          Experiment with home remedies with natural ingredients. Coffee mask for your eyes, a papaya face pack or almond milk and honey face pack. You’ll be surprised at the wonders it could do for your skin.
Sunscreen is something we all need to religiously learn to apply to all exposed areas of our body throughout the year. Our skin must be shielded against the sun’s rays throughout the year, even in winter. Sunscreen with SPF not only protects skin cells from the harmful UV rays and tanning but also prevents ageing of the skin. Ensure that sunscreen is the last thing apply on your skin before stepping out. This way the sunscreen forms a physical barrier between your skin and the sun. Moisturising sunscreens are the best combo for your skin as well as your wallet as it gives your skin maximum care all day long.

Kaya Skin Clinic - Sunscreen Choices for Acne Vulnerable Skin

Preventing acnes and pimples and other skin problems can be a hard task. However, if you take care to choose the right type of products that suit your skin type, you can prevent breakouts and get the maximum benefits from creams, moisturisers, sunscreens etc.
Sunscreens for Oily Skin
Oily skin is a skin type where natural skin oil called sebum is secreted at a level above normal. Acne is caused by excess sebum and dirt blocking skin pores. So, if you have oily skin, it means you are more easily vulnerable to acne breakouts, pimples, and other related problems like acne scars and will have to seek out acne treatment, pimple marks removal cream etc.
If, in addition to this, you use thick creamy formulations of moisturisers, sunscreens etc., you are aggravating the situation. These cream based products can leave an oily residue on your skin, and thus trigger acne by adding to the skin oil and increasing the chances of blocked pores.
So, skin care items for oily skin need to be picked with care. Use water-based formulations that are very lightweight and give a matte look to your face. They help remove the excess oil in your skin and do not add oil themselves.
Sunscreens are vital part of your daily use cosmetics kit. You should remember to use them daily to protect yourself against UV rays from the sun. For oily skin, choose a product that is light in texture, and even helps reduce the dullness of your skin and makes it look clean and smooth. Kaya Skin Clinic offers a range of sunscreens for daily use - sweat proof to anti-ageing and the new Kaya Ultra Light Aquagel Sunscreen.
Kaya Sunscreens for Acne Susceptible Skin
Kaya offers some of the best sunscreen products for all types of skin. Here are a few that are suitable for those who have oily skin:

It contains Aloe Vera that soothes your skin and helps prevent sunburn. It protects you for a long time against both UVA and UVB Rays, and makes your skin feel smooth and silky.
Kaya Youth Protect Sunscreen SPF 50
This sunscreen is an anti-ageing formulation rich with antioxidants. The non-greasy and light texture of this product makes this a good choice for oily skin. A sunscreen enriched with Geranium extracts and other botanicals, it not only protects you against UV rays, it also nourishes and rejuvenates your skin and helps to keep it ever youthful and supple.
This is a broad spectrum sunscreen, SPF 30 and PA+++, so you get the best protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Suitable for oily and combination skins, it also contains Niacinamide, a whitening agent. This helps remove skin tan and lightens skin tone.
Kaya Ultra Light Aquagel Sunscreen SPF 25
Ultra Light Aquagel Sunscreen is a recent addition to Kaya’s Sunscreens lineup. The gel based, extremely lightweight sunscreen moves smoothly across the skin, feels cool, and seems to get absorbed instantly, leaving your skin with a matte finish. Specially designed for skin that is vulnerable to acne, it is non-greasy so it will not block pores. Shields you well against both UVB and UVA rays and also against heat, dust and pollution.
This sunscreen is PABA-free and fragrance-free. Also contains Niacinamide for lightening skin tone and geranium extract for skin nourishment. SPF 25 and PA+++ rating ensure good protection against harmful sun rays.
Use non-greasy sunscreens, products designed for oily or combination skins and those that are specially formulated for oily skin that is more likely to suffer from pimples and breakouts, like Kaya’s new Aquagel sunscreen. Schedule regular facials for acne prone skin to keep your skin healthy and free of blemishes. Reduce the chances of your skin care cosmetics creating adverse reactions, by seeking out the products that best suit your needs and your skin type.

UVA and UVB Rays - What’s the Difference? What Does the SPF Rating Mean in Sunscreens?

Light and the heat from the sun help sustain life on earth. Yet, sunlight can also be harmful. Sunlight is composed of different rays, these include ultraviolet rays that can be harmful to humans. UVA and UVB are two types of ultraviolet rays that can affect skin health and cause other problems.
Sunscreens help protect you from the harmful effects of theserays. However, before you go shopping for a good sunscreen to add to your summer skin care kit, you need to understand some of the basics about UV rays and sunscreen ratings.
This will help you choose the right sunscreen for skin protection like the Kaya Youth Protect Sunscreen SPF 50. Let’s take a look at what UVA and UVB rays are and the different kinds of sunscreens available in the market.

UVA Rays and UVB Rays

Sunlight consists of both visible light and lights that are not visible to human eyes. Ultraviolet rays are in the invisible light spectrum. Most of the light that reaches the earth is filtered through the atmospheric layers and most of the unhealthy rays do not reach the earth's surface. However, some do, like the UVA and UVB rays.
UVB rays are short wavelength rays. The intensity of UVB rays is not uniform. It can vary by season, region, and altitude. They have a wavelength (in nanometers) of 290 nm to 320 nm. They do not penetrate the skin deeply. Yet, they are potentially more harmful as they are directly linked to skin cancer. They cause sunburn and over exposure can even lead to cancer. This is why most sunscreens focus on blocking out UVB rays more than UVA rays.
UVA rays are long wavelength rays. They have a wavelength of 320 nm to 400 nm and so are capable of penetrating deep into the skin. They do not cause any quickly obvious outward effects like UVB rays do in the form of sunburn.
UVA rays can darken skin, damage skin cells, and collagen. All these lead to skin damage like sunspots, wrinkles, and skin discoloration. Collagen damage caused by UVA rays can cause the skin to lose its firmness and suppleness.
So, it’s important that you protect your skin while being out in the sun, even if you are out for a few minutes. Use a product like Kaya Daily Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF 30 for daily protection against UV rays.

Sunscreens

Sunscreens are designed to provide a protective coating on the skin that can block the UV rays and prevent skin damage. They are also specially formulated to provide maximum protection against the cancer causing UVB rays which also cause painful sunburns.

Sunscreens and SPF

Sunscreens come with an SPF rating. SPF is an acronym for Sun Protection Factor. The SPF number indicates the level of protection the sunscreen can provide against ultraviolet rays. As sunscreens are optimized for protection against UVB rays, you should look for products that also shield you against UVA rays which are always present irrespective of season. Look for sun protection creams that are labeled as “Broad Spectrum”. These have been specifically designed for blocking out UVA rays as well as UVB rays.

SPF Numbers

The SPF ratings are indicative of the level of protection they can provide against sun damage. The numbers also indicate the percentage of UVB rays the sunscreen can shield you against.
If a sunscreen has an SPF of 15, it can enhance your resistance to UVB rays by a factor of 15. For instance, if your skin can resist the harmful effects of UVB rays for 10 minutes, an SPF 15 sunscreen can potentially help you resist sun damage for 10 x 15 minutes, that's, 150 minutes. This is just a rough estimate. The sunscreen protection can be affected by many factors like your skin type, how much sunscreen you have used, and so on. Choose a sunscreen like Kaya Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin SPF 15 if your skin type is highly sensitive.
The SPF numbers can also indicate the percentage of UVB rays they can block. SPF 15 indicates that the product can keep out 93% of UVB rays, SPF 30 rated sunscreens can keep out 97%, and SPF 50 can block out 98% of UVB rays. For optimal protection, buy broad spectrum sunscreens which also block out UVA rays. The Kaya Ultra-Light Aquagel Sunscreen SPF 25 is a broad spectrum sunscreen for oily skin and for combination skin types.
Choose the best sunscreen products that suits your skin and your lifestyle. Protect yourself against the harsh rays of the sun. Stay free of sunburns and other sun damage during this summer.
